Pots and Patios- Studio and Garden painting day

Tutor Catherine Stott

This is a day course based in the Artist's studio in Devon, developing ideas about painting flowers or plants in watercolour and pastel, and concentrating on close up scenes in the garden. We will work partly from still life or photographs in the studio or on close up scenes in the garden. Choose your own medium or bring both. If you wish to try out a painting medium that is new to you, contact the tutor for advice on materials before you come on the course. Try out a number of painting projects, and receive individual advice on drawing, composition, colour mixing and painting skills in your chosen medium. The aim of the day workshop is to improve your skill at painting with flowers and plants as the main subjects, rather than a course in botanical art.
Materials Sketching materials, watercolours and brushes and/or basic pastels required.
Also recommended- protective clothing for painting, suitable footwear and clothes for any outside work. Digital camera. Folding stool if needed
Contact the artist for more advice on what to bring

Other costs Bring your usual materials. Additional materials may also be purchased from the tutor if required.
