Mud and Morris at Morpeth

Perhaps it was always going to be this way at the end of March- wind, rain, woolly hats and waterproofs- what a contrast to a year ago. But the crowds still came and enjoyed dry weather for the parade which was as colourful as ever; indoor events were also very popular. Once again we mounted a ‘Gathering Images’ exhibition at the Methodist Church- this time the paintings reflected the Gathering celebrations in 2007.
On Sunday the heavens relented, and the Turner Garden was the scene of an original drama by school pupils. The York Waits performed here in their colourful attire as well as at the evening concert. I am left with many impressions and a wealth of material to work from…
